The Long Way Home

One problem is that she’s estranged from her domineering parents but struggles to support herself even as she nears 30 and watches her youth fade. The other is her hulking and increasingly abusive boyfriend. Without her family to support her, Anna feels she has nowhere to go.
At the same time, Anna must deal with living in a Rust Belt town in 1980s Michigan. Her town, it seems, has reached a dead end just like her.
Just when Anna has given up hope of a regular family life, however, she meets Larry Edwards, an unexpected ray of light piercing the darkness of her bleak life. Larry has some skeletons of his own, however, and when mixed with Anna’s, the combination threatens to wreck their relationship before it can save them both.
