A little about me and The Historical Fiction Company. My name is D. K. Marley and for as long as I can remember, I loved reading books.
Meandering through a bookshop, scanning covers, reading book blurbs and first lines, opening a new book and sniffing (yep, you know you have all done it!), gathering two or three (or ten) to add to my already huge TBR pile, while the aroma of coffee or tea permeates the air around me - well, this is my idea of a perfect outing.
And my go-to genre is ALWAYS historical fiction. It's what I love to read, and what I love to write. And to have my own bookshop, somewhere to support fellow authors, has always been a dream of mine.
And so, this website was born out of my love for books, and a dream.
WRITING. BOOKSHOPS. TEA (or COFFEE). HISTORICAL FICTION. A PERFECT COMBO.
It is my hope to create a place of support and creativity for writers just starting out, as well as well-established pros. I hope you enjoy the site!!
As head graphic designer at White Rabbit Arts, I bring my 35+ years experience in graphic design work, specializing in logo design, book and magazine layouts, cover designs, and branding.

ÉDITEUR DE LIGNE ET DE DÉVELOPPEMENT
Ma vie jusqu'à présent m'a très bien préparé pour la carrière que j'ai choisie. Je suis né dans un pays qui n'existe plus sur les cartes, j'ai vécu et travaillé dans sept pays sur quatre continents (et dans le cyberespace !), j'ai escaladé des montagnes, plongé dans des récifs coralliens, piloté de petits avions, nagé avec des dauphins et touché deux- tuiles millénaires dans une porte de Babylone.
Je suis romancier, anthologue et nouvelliste qui partage actuellement ma vie entre le nord-ouest du Pacifique des États-Unis (où je vis avec deux chats d'écrivain obligatoires) et les merveilleux mondes fantastiques de ma propre imagination.

Basé au Royaume-Uni, je suis un diplômé de l'Université de Londres qui a déjà travaillé pour un
grande maison d'édition. Depuis que j'ai pris ma retraite, j'ai été rédactrice et rédactrice en chef indépendante pendant de nombreuses années. J'ai des clients dans plusieurs
pays dont les États-Unis, l'Allemagne, la France et l'Éthiopie.
Beaucoup de mes clients sont des personnes pour qui l'anglais est une langue seconde.
Je suis écrivain de romans historiques et c'est mon genre de prédilection, même si je n'ai pas de préférence particulière quant au genre que j'édite car, dans l'édition, je n'avais pas le choix. Mes objectifs sont la rigueur, la précision et le plaisir que j'éprouve à aider les auteurs à faire de leur travail le
mieux cela peut être.
Je vous propose un court échantillon d'édition (environ 1500 mots) afin que je puisse évaluer votre travail et que vous puissiez voir ce que je fais et décider si vous souhaitez travailler avec moi. Je fournis un devis basé sur la quantité de travail qui peut nécessiter
à faire et à facturer par mille mots. À l'heure actuelle, cela représente en moyenne environ 9 $ pour mille mots - 50 % à l'avance et 50 % sur
l'achèvement - ou nous pouvons organiser un plan de paiement si vous en avez besoin.

Mary Anne Yarde is a multi-award-winning and bestselling author of Historical Fiction, as well as being an award-winning blogger. She studied History at Cardiff University and went on to study Equine Science at Warwickshire College.
Mary Anne is a passionate advocate for quality Historical Fiction and became a professional Editorial Reviewer in 2016. She has worked closely with publishing houses, and authors (both traditionally and independently published) to successfully market their books.
When Mary Anne is not promoting books, she tutors History from Year 5 to Year 10. She is also a member of The Historical Novel Society.

Cathie Dunn is a writer of award-winning, Amazon-bestselling historical fiction, mystery, and romance.

In her spare time, she loves exploring historic sites and uncovering hidden (hi)stories.
